Historic Civil War Replica Buildings – Gary Manville’s Sachs Bridge

Constructed in 1854, Sach’s Bridge is a 100-foot covered Town Truss Bridge over Marsh Creek, southwest of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Designed by engineer Ithiel Towns, its unique lattice-style wooden beams enhance strength. During the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863), it was a vital passage for both Union and Confederate troops, with many soldiers losing their lives there.
